The rainy season in Bolivia
Tuesday, February 5th, 2008I don’t remember any rain during my time in Bolivia. It was cold at times, but always dry.
That is definitely not the case at the moment. There are reports of 45 people killed in flooding across much of the country, with diseases compounding the problems.
What I did do was to fly with a Beoing 727 operated by Lloyd Aereo Boliviano – and one of these has crashed in a swamp – swollen by the rains – after diverting to avoid bad weather.
Whilst the technology is wildly different, it does sound like a similar landing that the 777 had at London’s Heathrow airport the other day – which by co-incidence is the type of aircraft that I fly back from Bolivia in!
